We are seeking experienced and professional sommelier to join our team at DOMODOMO Dallas, fine dining Japanese restaurant.

Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for wine and food pairings, along with the ability to enhance our guests' dining experience through expert recommendations and exceptional service. As a Sommelier, you will play a crucial role in menu planning and collaboration with our culinary team to ensure that our offerings are perfectly complemented by the right selections of wine.

Responsibilities

  • Curate and maintain an extensive wine list that reflects the restaurant's concept and enhances the dining experience.
  • Provide expert advice on wine selections to guests, including pairing recommendations with menu items.
  • Conduct tastings and training sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wines and improve service.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning to ensure harmonious food and wine pairings.
  • Monitor inventory levels of wines and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Uphold food safety standards and ensure proper handling of all food and beverage items.
  • Engage with guests to create memorable experiences through personalized service and upselling techniques.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of wines, including regions, varietals, and tasting notes.
  • Experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant settings.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
