Responsibilities
- Curate and manage the wine list, ensuring it complements the menu offerings.
- Provide expert wine pairings for guests, enhancing their overall dining experience.
- Conduct tastings and training sessions for staff to improve their knowledge of wines and beverages.
- Assist in menu planning by collaborating with the culinary team to create harmonious pairings.
- Maintain inventory of wines and beverages, including ordering and receiving stock.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Participate in banquet services, providing wine service for events as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new wines, and food pairings.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and tasting notes.
- Experience with menu planning and food service operations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests effectively.
