The location in Hawesville, (Kentucky, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Transportation Analyst. This job is full-time permanent.
Transportation Analyst
Position Description: The Hawesville Mill is looking for a motivated and experienced Transportation Analyst, with great communication skills and familiarity with shipping to join our team! This position reports to the Logistics Superintendent. This salaried exempt position provides support for all truck and rail outbound paper shipments. This position will also participate in making process improvements and work on multiple projects including activities to reduce overall transportation and inventory costs to Domtar.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- A person dedication to working safely, including participation in safety audits.
- Responsible for coordinating shipments for 2 paper machines operations (day to day) with sales/sales service/planning. Includes coordinating pick up schedules and solutions to meet production and sales competing requirements.
- CSX switch on website
- Demurrage monitoring and reporting
- Coordinating with Road and Rail
- Drop yard management
- Carrier Mix & Carrier turns
- Notify H2 planner of dock issues
- Manages efficient dock flow
- Notify CSRs of ETA’s
- Execution of Cull shipments
- LoadExpert/creation of load plans
- AAR/DOT load compliance
- TMX monitoring
- Paper Export shipments/customs (Intellitrans)
- Maintain loader job equipment availability, including coordination of resources with IT and Rolling Stock: Clamp Trucks, Truck Computers, Scanners, Truck Monitoring badge program, etc.
- Support/Back up Inventory Analyst.
- Exhibit competent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Investigate and resolve shipping and inventory related issues
- Extract, organize and analyze shipping and inventory data to identify opportunities and making systemic improvements.
- Maintain inventory of operating and shipping materials and enter replenishment orders as necessary
- Act as an effective liaison between Operations, Purchasing, IT, and the Fort Mill Planning team
- Prepare audit, costing, shipping and inventory reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Logistics Management, Operations Management, Transportation, Business or related field, or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Logistics/Transportation.
- Advanced PC skills using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task, have time management skills and work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work with multiple internal and external customers/suppliers
- Excellent interpersonal, team, communication and listening skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Business Management, Logistics Management, Operations Management, Transportation, or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Logistics/Production.
- SAP experience
- Familiarity/Experience using business analytics and inventory analysis/trending
- Familiarity/Experience using online load management systems such as TMS
- Experience with shipping via CSX
