Job Description
The Utilities Manager will guide and coordinate operations in the Utility department, cooperating with other area managers and staff to achieve corporate and mill goals for safety, environmental compliance, production, and reliability.
- Communicate clear expectations for area Operations Coordinators and Hourly personnel regarding Safety, Quality, Environmental Compliance, and Production.
- Provide guidance and direction for the area Operations Coordinators in all aspects of area operation, training, including annual performance reviews.
- Perform safety and housekeeping audits as directed and follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Mentor and develop Operations Coordinators for succession planning.
- Provide opportunities for development and growth of the Operations Coordinators and hourly personnel.
- Assist Operations Coordinators in development of operating budget proposals for all Utility departments.
- Develop and maintain a three and five year plan for proposed operational improvement and capital management projects.
- Monitors the performance of the overall process and provides feedback to Operations Coordinators to maintain consistent high quality production.
- Responsible for maintaining full compliance with all recovery boiler safety requirements per BLRBAC, NFPA, and requirements for area Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Coordinates with mill engineering personnel on development and implementation of Capital Projects.
