Don Hattan Chevrolet is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Assistant Service Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that our service department delivers exceptional customer experiences while achieving high operational efficiency. The Assistant Service Manager will supervise Service Advisors, manage porters and lube technicians, assist with warranty administration, and handle escalated customer concerns.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in service advising or service management, excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of automotive repairs, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, coach, and support Service Advisors to ensure they meet performance goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Provide guidance and problem-solving for escalated customer situations, ensuring positive resolutions.
- Manage and direct porters and lube technicians to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Customer Experience:
- Ensure customers are greeted promptly and professionally by Service Advisors.
- Oversee consistent communication between advisors, technicians, and customers regarding vehicle status, estimates, and services performed.
- Address escalated customer issues with empathy and professionalism.
Operational Support:
- Assist Service Advisors with warranty claim administration and billing questions.
- Monitor department KPIs and identify areas for improvement in processes or customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to implement new initiatives and training programs for staff.
- Run daily meetings with service advisors and technicians to plan the days workflow and prioritize tasks.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Service Advisor (or comparable role) with a proven track record of high performance.
- Previous experience as a Service Manager at a smaller dealership or independent shop preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Competent understanding of vehicle mechanics and repair processes.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts calmly and effectively.
- High level of independence and confidence when leading a team, balanced with a social and approachable demeanor.
- Speaking conversational Spanish is not required, however, bilingual candidates will be given priority.
