We are searching for a motivated and skilled General Manager to join our team and assist in providing excellent customer service to our valued customers.
Job Description:
We’re looking for a General Manager to oversee the daily operations and organization of our service department as a whole. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for training our pool routemen and pool/spa technicians, maintaining company equipment/fleet, all while upholding the operational and organizational standards of the business. Additionally, you will take part in troubleshooting client concerns and pool equipment malfunctions. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, mechanically minded and demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
- Train pool routemen on proper cleaning and maintenance protocols
- Train technicians on various repairs relating to pool/spa equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe shop environment that complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Orders parts and equipment as needed for stock and specific jobs
- Oversee vehicle fleet maintenance (especially enforcing drivers maintain fleet cleanliness) and gas tags, truck smogs etc.
- Oversee work scheduling of technician routes and daily work needs
- Generate estimates for client requests and visits potential new jobs
- Maintain the parts room
- Does repair work on smaller pieces of equipment i.e. pumps, motors, capacitors etc.
- Place purchase orders after doing price analysis on most economical distributors
- Review all work orders completed and assign applicable costs and labor rates to be invoiced
- Hire, Train, Terminate staff, as well as oversee new staff, leading by example and ensuring efficiency in the training process
- Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive new client contracts to grow the existing customer base
- Assist employees with on-call needs

- Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and use cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent
- Deepen knowledge base of business operations and services so as to answer client questions and concerns
- Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable and cost analysis on suppliers to reduce inventory costs
- Analyze sales figures, forecast future sales and interpret trends to facilitate planning around seasonal demand for inventory
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years Experience working in the Pool Industry
- Experience working in repairs and small engines, preferably in a managerial position for 3 years
- Working knowledge of business development best practices
- Familiarity with Ion Software
- In-depth knowledge of office management and workforce development
Location: Office/ Field
Hours: 40 hour position
Monday-Friday 7am-3pm (year round) and on-call
Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
