Summary
Responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth in the current procedure manual. The Delivery/Installation Technicians will perform manual lifting, driving and appliance installation. Delivery/Installation Technicians report to the Delivery/Installations manger. They work as the lead of the team in providing delivery and installation of appliances throughout the Don’s Appliance service area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads trucks each morning with the daily route of deliveries. Scan and account for each appliance being loaded.
- Remove existing appliances from the premise if applicable; install new appliances including water lines, power lines and appropriate attachments, if applicable.
- Maintain invoices; receive payment for delivery and all records required for efficient quality and inventory control.
- Keep truck clean inside and out
- Drives truck in a safe manner at all times, always wearing seat belt.
- Drives truck to customer sites and successfully completes customer requests in a professional timely manner.
- Reports maintenance problems to the warehouse manager or installation manager in a timely manner.
- Keep in close contact with the dispatch supervisor if delayed for any reason.
- Follow all safety regulations and precautions.
- Performs other related work as required
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Education
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- 5 years or more related appliance installation experience and/or training including installing a dishwasher or over-the range microwave
- Experience in carpentry such as custom built kitchens and cabinetry
- Previous expertise connecting all water, electric and gas connections
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
License/Certification:
- Valid Driver’s License Required
- DOT Certification Required
