Position Title: Outside Sales Engineer

Reports to: Sales Manager

As a Outside Sales Engineer with us, you'll:

  • Grow sales within your assigned territories, turning prospects into lifelong partners.
  • Become the go-to Sales Engineer for our line card products, impressing customers with your in-depth knowledge.
  • Maintain open communications with customers regarding their product and service needs for current and future applications.
  • Craft customized solutions and quotes that not only meet but exceed customer expectations in fluid power circuits, automation, controls, and safety applications.
  • Market research with NAICS data, SIC codes, and competitive data to generate sales leads.
  • Acquire and maintain certifications through organizations such as the Fluid Power Society, solidifying your status as a true industry expert.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to amplify sales of product lines and participate in industry trade shows.
  • Transform data into power by recording, analyzing, and presenting sales information using our CRM program.
  • Maintain confidential documents regarding customer costs, pricing and contracts.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external audiences to promote sales.
  • Special projects as assigned, including but not limited to market research and education.
  • Offer recommendations and suggestions that promote continuous improvement.
  • Follow all policies and procedures with respect to company systems, practices and information sharing.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and routinely meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software products
  • Ability to work independently with organizational skills, time management, and prioritization
  • High School diploma required; business degree or certification preferred
  • Industrial experience with customer service and/or order management preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
  • Information technology and/or CAD experience preferred
