Job Title: Systems Programmer (Support)
Location: STATE OF WYOMING
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities
- The System Programmer in the Mainframe vernacular is significantly different than an Application Programmer.
- Mainframe System Programmer is responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of operating systems software.
- Modifies and debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages.
- The programmer may also diagnose, isolate and debug software problems and perform problem resolution.
- System Programmers monitors system capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier 2 technical support.
- Responsible for Z/OS operation, Z/OS support including problem analysis and resolution.
- Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and operating the BMC Control-M scheduler software on the system.
Responsible for maintaining and working with other third-party software installed in the system environment, such as VTAM-SWITCH and other installed supporting ISV software.
