We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper that can play a crucial role in managing and optimizing financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic support to accountants and business owners. With deep expertise in QuickBooks and advanced accounting processes, this professional will streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and contribute to the overall financial health of the business.
Responsibilities.
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.
- Oversee accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R), ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Process payroll, including tax withholdings, deductions, and compliance with federal/state laws.
- Prepare and file sales tax, payroll tax, and 1099 reports.
- Generate and analyze customized financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements).
- Ensure proper month-end and year-end closings, resolving discrepancies before CPA review.
- Optimize QuickBooks setup, automation, and integrations with third-party applications.
- Identify and correct financial errors, ensuring accuracy before tax filing.
- Support CPAs and business owners with budgeting, forecasting, and financial insights.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and tax laws to maintain compliance.
- Train and mentor junior bookkeepers or clients on QuickBooks best practices.
Requirements:
- Advanced QuickBooks (Online & Desktop) Expertise
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations (multi-entity, multi-currency)
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Payroll Processing & Compliance (ADP, Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll)
- Financial Reporting & Analysis (custom reports, trend analysis, budgeting)
- Tax Compliance & Sales Tax Knowledge (state/local tax filings, 1099 preparation)
- Process Automation (bank feeds, recurring transactions, third-party integrations)
- Software Proficiency: Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
