Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. The Junior Estimator will assist the Estimating Department in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or individual with limited experience in construction estimating to develop their skills and grow within a reputable company.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates based on project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Review and analyze project documents, including blueprints, specifications, and bid documents.
- Obtain and analyze quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of estimates and supporting documentation.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a cost database.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages and proposals.
- Perform site visits as required to gather information.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- 0-2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field (internships considered).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with estimating software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver's license.
