About the Role
DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the New Verticals Inventory Intelligence team. This team focuses on enhancing the shopping experience by collaborating with the Search and Consumer teams. They aim to create an inventory-informed shopping experience, improve inventory accuracy through machine learning (ML) predictions, and develop the infrastructure to provide real-time inventory availability to consumers downstream. These initiatives will help us achieve our primary goal of ensuring that our customers receive exactly what they want across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol, and Retail businesses. The team’s success hinges on delivering 100% accurate, real-time inventory signals. As the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders to define the vision and strategy needed to attain our ambitious objectives. You will collaborate with the ML team to develop an ML-based prediction system and work alongside our product managers and operations team to enhance the collection of inventory signals.

We’re excited about you because you have…
- B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or related field
- 3 years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 6 engineers
- 8 years of industry experience
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
- Experience delivering ML-enabled products
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
