Optometric Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing high-quality eye care to patients. We are open to both experienced Technicians as well as Entry Level candidates! You will be responsible for performing various clinical tasks, managing patient flow, and ensuring a welcoming environment in our medical office. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary eye exams and record vital signs accurately.
• Assist in the administration of tests and procedures as directed by the optometrist.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
• Prepare examination rooms by ensuring they are clean and equipped with necessary supplies.
• Provide patients with information regarding their eye health and treatment options.
• Assist with optical sales by recommending eyewear options based on patient needs.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique during procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with the clinic team to enhance patient experience and streamline operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided!
• Knowledge of physiology related to eye care is a plus.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
• Experience with front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and patient management systems.
• Good attendance and ability to work in a team environment is a MUST.
