SUMMARY
The Analyst/Accountant is responsible for cost accounting, material cost calculation and analysis, quoting and various financial reporting. This individual also participates in the forecast and budgeting process. This individual is also responsible for ad hoc projects as necessary. There is a potential for this to be a Senior Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant based upon skill and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collecting data to calculate, plan, forecast and/or analyze costs of business activity; including but not limited to: Raw materials, Labor, and Overhead Costs
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard budgeted costs to actual production costs
- Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
- Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Prepare quotations for cost/pricing of large projects and analysis post close out
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
- Maintaining Cost Accounting System and Databases
- Assist with inventory valuation and reporting
- Reconciliation of Perpetual Inventory to GL Inventory Balances
- WIP and Finished Good Inventory Valuation
- Excess and obsolescence Estimating and Analysis
- Assist with Month end close of the General Ledger (with an emphasis on Inventory related entries)
- Development and maintenance of standardized reporting databases
- Data is used for internal performance reporting
- Development and maintenance of standardized performance reporting
- Prepare internal monthly performance charts
- Prepare external Monthly Performance Review (MPR) charts
- Compile project & product costs and analyze variances
- Calculate/review/maintain pricing for both standard and Non-Standard product offerings
- Work with Engineering to appropriately price product offerings and large projects
- Review of Pricing periodically to inform management when changes may be necessary
- Forecasting of future costs to determine pricing needed to achieve budget Travel to manufacturing facilities on an as needed basis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 4 years of Relevant Experience
- Cost Accounting Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (preferred)
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Strong Cost systems background (preferred)
- Computer Literate β Strong Excel skills (advanced functions such as logical, lookup, reference and math functions required) and the ability to use Outlook and Word
- Experience with Workwise ERP a plus
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
