Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Dorminy Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities:
* Collect blood samples from patients using various techniques and equipment
* Maintain accurate records and reports of sample collection and processing
* Ensure that all samples are handled and stored in accordance with facility policies and procedures
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient lab operations
Requirements:
* High school graduate or equivalent (required by federal law)
* Graduate of an approved phlebotomy program or 2 years of phlebotomy experience
* Prior experience in clinical training or on-the-job experience
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Working Conditions:
* Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions
* Must be able to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
* Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
* Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned
