Role Overview:
The Senior Director of Channel Marketing will develop and execute trade marketing strategies that align with our organizational goals and drive sales growth. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will lead the design and implementation of commercial plans to enhance success within our direct sales channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the new Channel Marketing team within the Commercial group, focusing on customer and channel-centric execution.
- Drive the commercialization of new and existing products across our Retail Channels, including Mass, Pet, Farm & Ag, and others.
- Key duties include:
- Conducting Line Reviews
- Developing and executing Promotions
- Designing In-Store Displays
- Creating Customer-Specific Marketing initiatives
- Identifying and addressing gaps in customer engagement
- Serving as the internal liaison for sales and customer relations
- Acting as the external liaison for product, supply chain, and logistics coordination
- Develop marketing assets for Indirect Distribution (Omnichannel) and Direct marketing, ensuring alignment with the annual sales budget and profit margin targets.
- Foster relationships with Sales Leadership, distributor management teams, and other channel customers to build expertise in marketing programs.
- Manage a team of three direct reports responsible for trade promotions, including pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and merchandising programs to boost sales and enhance brand visibility.
- Collaborate with the brand team to establish promotional period themes, aligning efforts with distributor sales and merchandising teams.
- Work closely with Product and Innovation, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to mitigate excess inventory and exposure liability.
Qualifications:
- A 4-year college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Consumer- Packaged Goods (CPG).
- At least 5 years of experience in Trade/Category Marketing, preferably with retailers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and Adobe.
