Who We’re Hiring:
EMC Mechanical Services is looking for an HVAC Start-Up Technician to join our Construction division! A HVAC Mechanic for Construction is responsible for the installation of all HVAC equipment on a project. This position requires the ability to read and apply electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. The ability to install and modify ductwork, pipe refrigeration equipment, and pull vacuums is also necessary for the position. In addition to the HVAC work, each HVAC Mechanic is responsible for utilizing and teaching any HVAC Apprentices or Helpers who have been assigned to assist them.

What You’ll Do:
- Install heating, AC, and refrigeration equipment, including necessary duct work.
- Perform start ups, including testing newly installed equipment and components to ensure proper operation.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC problems on newly installed equipment.
- Maintain and submit all required forms, timesheets, and paperwork.
- Maintain inventory and truck stock.
- Maintain certification and continuing education.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Commercial HVAC industry is required.
- Journeyman license is required, Master’s preferred.
- CFC/EPA Universal certification is required.
- OSHA 10 certification or higher is required.
- Productive time management for projects is required.
- Must be available for multiple job sites, flexible schedules, and safety standards.
- Driving Requirements
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Must have positive points on state driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
- Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
- All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
- Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
