What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Tech Level I - Reefer Fueler position at Dot Transportation, Inc.?
Location: Mt. Sterling, IL
Department: Garage
Reports To: Trailer Maintenance Manager
Wage Range: $22.47 - $26.97
As a garage technician you will monitor refrigerated temperatures and fuels as required and other shop activities as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Fuel refrigerated units and transferring fuel from tank to units
- Reporting of any unit problems to refrigeration technicians
- Complete required maintenance paperwork including vehicle write ups and work orders
- Maintain awareness and compliance with all current local, state, and federal regulations such as those governing the handling and disposal of hazardous waste, i.e., diesel fuel
- Provide technical support to garage technicians when needed
- Apply lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste in all areas of the position
YOU MUST HAVE
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated aptitude in PC/laptop computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs
- A high level of quality and attention to detail
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- Previous experience performing semi-trailer repairs
- Excellen written and verbal communication skills
- Valid CDL
- Desire to be a strong team player working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
