SUMMARY:
The Medical Director
will provide key leadership at the Health Center level to meet the patient and community-focused goals of the organization. Working in close concert with the CMO, Clinical Team Leaders, and the provider group, the Medical Director will serve as facilitator, collaborator, and mentor to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of medical care while maintaining the mission of DotHouse Health Related key practice management activities.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Developing and implementing policies and procedures that support clinical services and the provider group.
· Establishing visit goals and expectations and helping to provide feedback, support, and direction to providers in order to meet productivity goals.
· Assisting in major clinical and grant initiatives.
· Assume a responsible role in operational improvement and problem-solving in Health Center operations, including: clinical care, access, clinical quality improvement activities, patient satisfaction, utilization, visits, staff, patient scheduling, and financial issues.
· Assist in structuring the Medical Practice to balance the clinical and financial needs of the organization.
· Assist, with the CMO and Clinical Team Leaders, in the recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of all primary care providers, serving as both clinical and administrative supervisor. Assist with orientation and compensation issues. Develop and implement a mentoring program for new providers, as well as an ongoing evaluation and feedback process for all providers.
· Oversee the teaching and research activities of DotHouse Health.
· Act as the primary point of contact for the providers, giving direction and support as needed.
· Assist in the investigation and resolution of quality concerns, including: patient and staff generated complaints: the development of the quality improvement program: and peer review and clinical guidelines.
· Assist in regulatory compliance activities, as necessary.
· Assist strategic planning, as part of the senior management team.
· Support the medical management process at DotHouse Health, working under the general guidance of the organization’s approach to managed care and medical management.
· Support the provider credentialing and privileging processes at the Health Center.
Be responsible for a minimum of five direct care sessions
Requirements
Education: Must be a graduate of an approved medical school and an accredited residency program in pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine or internal medicine/pediatrics.
Certification/Licensure:
- Board certified or Board eligible in appropriate discipline.
- Must be board certified at hire.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the State of Massachusetts.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a federal and state narcotic registration.
Experience:
- At least five years direct care experience.
- Proven medical management and physician practice management leadership abilities, resulting in more efficient and effective operations.
- Management style that fosters empowerment, collaboration, and professional development.
- Team player, mentor, and facilitator who can lead staff though change while maintaining high levels of staff and patient satisfaction and mission focus.
- Superior organizational, analytical/problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- History of effectiveness in mentoring, training and supporting medical providers, both on the team and individual levels.
- Ample community health center experience to ensure understanding of physician issues specific to this type of setting.
- Interest and commitment to public and community health.
Software/Hardware: Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
