Description
SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of various aspects of the monthly financial cycle as well as weekly, monthly and yearly reporting of financial data for various internal and external constituents. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and other finance department functions as defined by the Chief Financial Officer. The Senior Accountant is the primary back-up to the Staff Accountant, Procurement Specialist and Payroll.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Accurate and timely recording of journal entries for personnel costs including accruals, cash and investment activity, non-patient revenue and non-personnel costs including accruals.
- Preparation of explanations of financial statement variances for Accounting Supervisor
- Preparation of monthly reconciliations
- Preparation of daily check receipts and supporting documentation for upload to 3rd Party Patient Billing Company.
- Preparation and oversight of PSR daily envelop distribution
- Tracking of HRSA grant payments and supporting documentation
- Preparation and follow-up of monthly grant and contract billing
- Back-up to Payroll and Accounts Payable processing during time of need
- Quarterly maintenance of the fixed assets system
- Assist with the preparation of annual budget
- Assist with the year-end audit, tax returns and UDS filing
- Carry out special projects as assigned.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES :
Education : Bachelor's Degree with 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in non-profit accounting
