The Brand Development Manager leads the strategic coverage and partnerships of all non-AB products in the on/off premise. Delivers volume and profit goals for all channels on a monthly, annual, customer, supplier, and brand basis. Creates, deploys, and executes strategic vision for portfolio growth. Works collaboratively with the sales team to execute company and supplier objectives.
Responsibilities
· Develop an effective marketing and sales plan that maximizes the specialty division’s sales and achieves goals for current and new supplier partners.
· Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with retailers in the market by segment, which helps generate sales growth and share for the company.
· Demonstrates consultative sales abilities through successful presentations of products, the promotion of new and existing portfolio items, and the expansion of business internally and externally.
· Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships that allow for portfolio balance and growth.
· Exhibits discipline and resourcefulness to meet/exceed assigned monthly quotas and distribution objectives.
· Provides sales account management support, analyzes current and historical sales activity for assigned routes/accounts to identify opportunities and meet/exceed assigned monthly quotas and distribution objectives.
· Works diligently to achieve assigned goals and objectives, including sales budgets, incentives, and brand programming, in a timely manner.
· Recommends, creates/designs programs utilizing full knowledge of the supplier(s) portfolio.
· Participates in sales meetings and on-site training to remain educated in company policy and industry trends/developments.
· Researches, organizes, and presents sales reports/quota attainment results in team or company meeting environments.
· Own chain and channel responsibilities, working collaboratively with Segments Managers and Key Account Manager to ensure all chain-related activities and sales targets are achieved
· Own inventory management responsibilities, working collaboratively with the Inventory Manager and Operations to ensure product availability and rotation of stock through the process of forecasting, ordering, and proper warehouse procedures
· Conducts ongoing training and development of Sales Representatives through continued instruction on field training, market surveys, and sales team meetings.
· Understand and comply with all state and federal beverage alcohol regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Strong external and internal customer service skills.
- 5 years of sales supervisory experience and wholesale distribution sales.
· Must be able to deliver results and meet sales excellence standards/expectations
- Excellent planning skills and the ability to set priorities.
- Prior sales management experience
- Ability to recruit, train, and motivate a sales and service organization.
- Working knowledge and proficiency in various technology platforms.
- High understanding of key selling skills and retail tactics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in using various communication tools and technology to support sales and sales management functions.
