What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at DOUBLE H PLASTICS INC?
POSITION PURPOSE: Leads Human Resource practices and objectives by people-related services, policies, and programs for Double H. Manufacturing. Reports to Human Resources Manager (Director of HR in the interim) and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management
- Maintain up to date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements
- Coordinate open enrollments, changes and training for employee benefit programs
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, company policies, announcements, etc.
- Administer new employee on boarding and orientation
- Conduct background checks and other pre-employment checks
- Conduct Employee Engagement Meetings/Surveys
- Conducts disciplinary meetings and investigations
- Accident reporting, safety and OSHA reporting
- Plan company celebrations and parties
- I.D. Badge and security system
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of work experience in Human Resources
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams – ADP knowledge a plus
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development and a Human Resources SHRM – CP certification
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, and recruitment.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
- Experience in benefit administration and compensation programs.
- Excellent organizational management skills
- Excellent communication, written, verbal skills
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Windows environment and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). ADP Workforce Now and Social Media skills are a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The physical demands described here are largely typical for an office environment, however, must be able to be in manufacturing environment while wearing proper safety gear.
QUALITY STANDARDS:
- Must comply with all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
SAFETY:
- Proper use of all safety equipment (i.e., proper use of personal protective gear including gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses)
- Proactive approach to safety and accident avoidance
TRAVEL:
- Domestic travel less than 20%
