Overview
The Parts Clerk plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our food manufacturing facility. This position involves managing inventory, procuring parts, and ensuring that all necessary components are readily available for both production facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, as well as a solid understanding of inventory control and logistics within the food manufacturing industry.
Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring all parts are accounted for and properly stored.
- Procure manufacturing parts and supplies from vendors, negotiating terms when necessary to ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize inventory management systems, such as Food & Beverage System, to track stock levels and reorder parts as needed.
- Assist in the logistics of receiving, storing, and distributing parts within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move parts and materials.
- Collaborate with maintenance/refrigeration technicians to identify required parts for repairs and diagnostics.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to minimize discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in inventory control or management within an food manufacturing facility or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with procurement management processes and logistics operations is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of parts is a must.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification may be required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using computer systems for inventory tracking; experience with Food & Beverage Systems is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and vendors.
- Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
