About the Role: As Business Travel/Group Sales Manager you will work directly with clients planning events and meetings creating an enjoyable and memorable guest experience from start to finish ensuring a positive lasting impression. Serve as the primary liaison between the sales team and the staff while focusing on the client's expectations.
Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the city market, a proven track record of growing revenue, profit and market share and a dynamic, analytical background.
Responsibilities:
- Present ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organized way.
- This position will be selling to social markets
- Position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays to oversee the execution of events
- Able to follow assigned marketing plan action items in a timely fashion
- Ensures that all client correspondence is delivered according to departmental time and quality standards
- Able to produce a weekly sales call schedule which addresses timely follow up of all tentative business, maintenance of existing accounts, and development of new business, and priorities assigned by the Director of Sales
- Complete all departmental reports and systems on a timely basis
- Able to negotiate contracts that meet standards for rate or revenue
- Able to negotiate the best interests of the property while maintaining customer goodwill
- Familiar with legality of contractual agreements
- Understands operational capabilities of the property
- Manages group and interpersonal conflict situations effectively
- Establish, measure, monitor and evaluate processes policies and procedures
- Evaluates business trends to modify strategies
Requirements:
- Prior experience or similar role is required, strong hotel background (2 years), and one or more; catering/convention services, banquets, hotel sales, culinary arts is a must.
- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution desired
- Solid computer skills and knowledge of various discipline-focused computer programs, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills including follow up, time management, ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
