Automotive Service Advisor

Job Summary

At Doug's Automotive and Truck Repair we are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, guiding them through their automotive service experience. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs(THREE Cs), providing accurate service recommendations(potential up-selling), and ensuring a seamless communication process(able to multitask) between customers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assess their automotive service needs. Must look and be professional.
• Provide detailed explanations of PM services required, including oil changes, diesel engine repairs, and Transmission services.
• Utilize Tekmetrik to provide accurate service quotes.
• Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales and services.
• Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
• Guide the customer and explain diagnostics/repairs
• Be willing to attend additional paid training.
• Must be able to open at 7:30 when 5:00 when we close.

Skills

• Proficiency in automotive sales and customer service techniques.
• Strong knowledge of diesel/gas engine repair, HVAC diagnostics, ability to read electrical schematics preferred.
• Familiar with Alldata labor guide
• Must have legible handwriting.
• Multitasking - handle multiple jobs with multiple customers.
• Handling situations under pressure.
• Experience with cash handling and financial transactions in an automotive setting.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers in an understandable manner.
• Skills in upselling services while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Familiarity with auto estimating software and tools.
• Able to use diagnostic scan tool to read codes and perform minor diagnostics.

Must be able to pass background check in order to become a DOT inspector. Pay raise when DOT inspector status is achieved.

Parts % bonuses offered based upon performance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
