Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Department: Accounting
Organizational Relationship: Reports directly to the Controller
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 PM with a 1-hour meal break)
Summary: We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Clerk responsible for processing invoices received from our vendors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. The position will also share some Admin responsibilities. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Perform day to day high volume of financial transactions, including verifying, classifying and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable aging with Vendor statements to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
- Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
- Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of expense accounts and cost centers.
- Experience in compliance reporting around accounts payable processes (1099’s, W-9’s, Sales Tax, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven work experience as Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
- Skilled at data entry with a knack for numbers.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters and detail orientated.
- Requires strong verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.
- High degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time with proper prioritization.
- Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
- Accounting software proficiency
- Experience with MS Office Products, specifically Excel.
- Work in a team environment
- Strong sense of integrity
- Follow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as required
Required education and experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- 1-3 years of clerical and accounting experience.
- Prefer marine knowledge and marine experience.
- Software experience, ERP platform preferred (Visual a plus!), intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Bundle required, however, expert knowledge a plus.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English

Physical Environment
Exposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist in the production areas. Protective eyewear is required when in production areas.
Sensory Attention
Senses of seeing, smelling and touching are required with extreme concentration for long duration.
