Grant Funded - Transportation Service Worker

Job Summary

Transports participants to and from scheduled community-based programs such as vocational training mentoring programs counseling/treatment sessions juvenile court activities and the like. Position is grant funded. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: Transports clients/youth to and from scheduled community-based programs such as vocational training mentoring programs counseling/treatment sessions juvenile court activities and the like. Check the controls/indicators/monitors for the vehicle and report any malfunctions to the supervisor on duty. Maintain the vehicles appearance and notify the supervisor if any minor maintenance and/or repairs of the vehicle are needed. Use good judgment and safe driving skills. Document all trips; including start and end mileage gas fill ups number of passengers destination or pick-up points. Demonstrate good communication skills and be able to communicate with the youth case managers supervisor court administration and vendors in a courteous respectful and sincere manner. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or General Educational Development Certificate (GED) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 25 years of age Ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle Must meet all eligibility requirements established by the Board of Commissioners Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol screening as directed CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License (Class C) and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) Must complete Driver Orientation Safety Orientation and Defensive Driving Course provided by County Salary: $20.00 hourly NO BENEFITS Employment Opportunities (Section 13-50) “The recruitment selection appointment and promotion of employees shall be in such a manner as to promote equal employment for all persons without regard to race age color creed religion ancestry gender national origin physical handicap or political affiliation or sexual preference.”
