INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT: Work is often performed independently and requires self-initiative and good judgment.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under general supervision with defined tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not directly supervise other employees.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Experience in mowing or related work preferred. Some knowledge of equipment maintenance, and safety factors is required. Skill in the use of tractors and equipment involved in farming/ranching and construction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
Some knowledge of equipment maintenance.
Knowledge of safety practices using machines and equipment.
Skills:
Skill in the use of tractors and equipment involved in farming/ranching and construction.
Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License upon hire. - Mows roadsides and open areas.
- Provides general clean-up and maintenance of mowing equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance and operation of equipment.
- Helps ensure that all equipment is properly maintained. Performs miscellaneous minor maintenance work on vehicles and equipment.
- May perform equipment maintenance/fabrication.
- Establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties. May have contact with the public and must represent Douglas County with professionalism.
- Responsible for safety in work environment and responsible for safe use of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
