Job Details
As a Student Trainee with Douglas County PUD, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks, including:
- Performing a variety of landscape maintenance duties, including fence building, irrigation repair, and debris hauling.
- Operating side by sides, zero turn mowers, hand tools, and power tools.
- Working respectfully and cooperatively with diverse groups of people and maintaining professional interactions at all times in the workplace.
- Following District policies and safety procedures.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED and be enrolling or enrolled in college or a vocational school.
- A professional work attitude and strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge and experience in operating hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate mowers.
- Ability to tow trailers.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a variety of settings.
- Ability to work independently and develop solutions for problems as they occur.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Must be able to walk long distances on both pavement and uneven terrain.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- A valid Washington State driver license and proof of acceptable driving record.
