The annualized salary range for this position is $78,000 - $99,900, depending on qualifications. Pay above the midpoint to the maximum of $124,875 is typically reserved for employees with sustained performance and established longevity.
Position Summary
The Network Analyst supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of District server hardware and software infrastructure and services. They keep systems and services secure and highly available.
Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure hardware including storage systems, servers, networking, firewalls, and backup devices.
- Maintain virtual server infrastructure solutions spanning multiple sites.
- Build and configure Linux and Windows servers per District standards. Patch servers to ensure systems are up to date.
- Keep up to date with security trends, issues, and technologies. Implement defense in depth strategies to protect District systems. Configure firewalls, and other network security controls as directed. Monitor systems to ensure effective cyber security.
- Protect District data by monitoring and maintaining backups.
- Support various server-based systems including Active Directory, Log Management, Patch Management, and remote access applications.
- Track software licensing.
- Monitor and update security certificates.
- Microsoft 365 administration and security configuration.
- Troubleshoot and fix server and network issues alongside other technical staff as well as end users.
- Provide on-call support after hours/weekends as required.
- Support the District's mission and value statements in the performance of job duties.
- Work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse groups of people and maintain professional interactions at all times in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with all District policies.
- Adhere to the District's Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Operate District vehicles that may be equipped with a GPS device that monitors vehicle location while conducting business on behalf of the District.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Exposure to virtual infrastructure hardware and software solutions.
- Understanding of networking principles and how to architect secure and efficient configurations.
- Ability to work with multiple server operating systems, including Linux and Window Servers.
- Strong ability to adapt and learn new technologies as needed.
- Leverage common scripting languages such as PowerShell to automate processes.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Must have a self-starter attitude and the ability to apply good judgement and make decisions independently.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the applicant with the skills, knowledge, and ability to successfully perform the essential functions will be considered.

Certifications
A valid driver's license and proof of good driving record is required for this position (will be verified upon job offer). Out-of-state candidates must acquire a Washington State driver's license within 30 days of employment.
Physical Requirements
This position is performed in an office setting and requires the ability to sit and/or stand at a computer for long periods and perform repetitive hand or arm motions. Good manual dexterity is required for the use of common office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

In accordance with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, Douglas County Public Utility District #1 conducts post-offer background screening of personnel who have access to the District's critical physical and/or cyber assets.
