What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Ranger position at Douthat State Park?

Primary focus includes proper and prompt cleaning of cabins, restrooms, campground bathhouses, and other park structures. Efficient turnover of overnight facilities before check-in time and ability to work with little to no direct supervision. Will be responsible for inventorying linens and cabin supplies to ensure they are available for the next guest. Performs the light maintenance and cleaning tasks necessary to operate state park facilities. May be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Requires standing, bending, and working in the outdoors exposed to the elements.
- Must be able to work well with other staff and park guests.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Additional Considerations:
- Previous experience working in a housekeeping or janitorial setting is preferred.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
