Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a critical role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring that the highest standards of nursing practice are maintained. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care settings, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center or PICU.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing activities on the unit to ensure optimal patient care.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide health coaching to patients and families regarding their health conditions and treatment options.
- Manage discharge planning for patients, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home or other facilities.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including tube feeding when necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and address complex health needs.
- Support nursing staff in the care of patients with disabilities and those requiring specialized attention such as infant care or dialysis.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Current nursing license in good standing.
- Proven experience in acute care settings; experience in a Level I Trauma Center or PICU is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in patient assessment and discharge planning.
- Ability to provide effective health coaching and support for patients with diverse needs.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.50 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
