What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delegating Nurse position at Dove Point Residential Services, Inc.?
Make individual health care plans that includes admission, oversight of medication management, therapies & treatments, evaluation of test results & an evaluation of the plan’s effectiveness.
Act as liaison between individual and their families, guardians, advocates, health care personnel, the agency and others as required.
Assist with medical, dental vision and/or specialty appointments within the standards of Federal, State or local regulations, whichever is more stringent (usually 30 days) to ensure continued efficient, smooth and prompt health care services.
Hybrid working schedule that will require both remote and in office hours. You will need to be on call at all times for urgent/emergency calls related to individual’s health issues (note you will not report unless extraordinary circumstances). Report to medical facility or residences when necessary. Ability to guide, educate, and support direct care staff, CNA’s, CMT’s, LPN’s in residence based off of nursing care plans.
Review electronic Medication Administration Records (MAR’s), (TAR’s) on an ongoing monthly basis. Review and update physician’s orders every 90 days.
Participate and facilitate execution of yearly PCP process as team member. Includes attending PCP meetings & other meetings pertaining to the needs of individuals.
Must attend 2 DDA nursing quarterly meetings per year to maintain Delegating Nurse status.
Maintain a current Registered Nurse license to practice in MD, CPR and all annual required trainings required by Dove Pointe. Practices within the Maryland State Board of Nurse Practice Act using COMAR regulations.
Qualifications: Must be able to accurately & timely complete job duties with little supervision. Must be detail oriented. Must be able to work with individuals with all levels of disabilities. Must meet all local health regulations, pass background checks, pre-employment physical, drug testing and satisfactory employment verifications. Must be capable of performing job duties with approved reasonable accommodations or without accommodations. Knowledge of current & established nursing concepts, principles and practices. Knowledge & understanding of Infection Control, Universal Precautions, Incident Reporting, Care Planning and skills to develop & implement nursing standards of practice. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Possess basic knowledge of certification requirements of CNA’s and CMT’s as set forth by the MBON and DDA MTTP process.
