Director of Information Technology

JOB SUMMARY :

The Information Technology Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT

operations, implementing new technologies, ensuring cybersecurity, and optimizing our business processes through technological innovation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or related field; master s degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

Experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in chemical additives, is highly desirable.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Strategic Planning and Leadership

Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with the company's objectives.

Lead and manage the IT department, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.

Collaborate with senior management to identify and prioritize IT initiatives.

2. Infrastructure Management

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure. Ensure high availability and reliability of network, server, and storage systems. Manage the company's data centers and cloud services.

3. Cybersecurity

Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.

Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive company and customer data.

Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

4. System and Application Management

Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise software systems (ERP, CRM, SCM, etc.).

Ensure seamless integration and performance of IT systems across both manufacturing locations.

Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.

5. Project Management

Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.

Use project management methodologies to plan, execute, and finalize projects.

6. Support and Maintenance

Ensure the provision of high-quality IT support services to all staff and departments. Oversee the development and maintenance of IT support policies and procedures.

Manage vendor relationships and service agreements.

7. Innovation and Improvement

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements using technology.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT service delivery and operational efficiency.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :

1. Technical Skills

Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud computing.

Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.

Proficiency in enterprise software systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, SCM). Familiarity with manufacturing technologies and processes is a plus.

2. Leadership and Management

Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing IT team.

Strong project management skills, with experience in managing large-scale IT projects. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

3. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to make decisions under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT :

1. Physical Workspace :

Office Setting : The IT Director will primarily work in an office environment within the company's manufacturing facility or headquarters. The office will be equipped with necessary technology, including computers, software, and communication tools.

Manufacturing Sites :

o Regular visits to the two manufacturing locations are required to oversee IT operations, implement projects, and address site-specific issues.

o The manufacturing sites may have areas with noise, chemical exposure, and varying temperatures, necessitating adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

2. Work Hours :

Standard Hours : The role typically requires standard business hours, usually 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Flexible hours may be required to accommodate project deadlines, system upgrades, or emergency situations.

On-Call Responsibilities

o May be on-call outside of regular business hours to address critical IT issues or emergencies.

o Coordination with other IT staff to ensure 24 / 7 IT support coverage is necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

1. Office Environment :

Sitting : The IT Director will spend a significant portion of their workday seated at a desk, using a computer. Prolonged periods of sitting are common.

Manual Dexterity : Ability to use a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Proficiency in typing and data entry is essential.

Visual Acuity : Adequate vision to read and analyze financial reports, spreadsheets, and

other documents. This includes the ability to view computer screens for extended periods.

2. Movement and Mobility :

Standing and Walking : Occasional standing and walking are required, especially when moving around the office, attending meetings, or visiting different departments within the manufacturing facility.

Stair Climbing : The ability to climb stairs.

3. Communication :

Speech and Hearing : Clear verbal communication skills to interact with team members, senior management, and external stakeholders. Adequate hearing ability to participate in meetings, phone calls, and discussions.

4. Manufacturing Environment :

Visits to Manufacturing Floor : Occasional visits to the manufacturing floor may be required to collaborate with production managers and understand operational processes. This may involve walking on potentially uneven surfaces, exposure to industrial noise, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and appropriate footwear.

5. General Physical Abilities :

Lifting and Carrying : Occasionally, the IT Director may need to lift and carry items such as files, documents, or office supplies, typically not exceeding 20 pounds.

Reaching and Bending : Reaching for items on shelves or in drawers and bending to access lower storage areas may be required.

6. Ergonomics and Health :

Ergonomic Workspace : Ensuring an ergonomically sound workspace to prevent strain or injury. This includes adjustable chairs, monitor stands, and other ergonomic equipment.

Health and Safety Compliance : Adherence to company health and safety policies, particularly when visiting the manufacturing floor. Regular participation in safety training programs and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

Additional Considerations :

Travel : Minimal travel may be required for external meetings, training sessions and visits to other manufacturing sites.

Stress Management : Ability to handle stress and meet deadlines, especially during issue resolution periods.
