Summary

The shipping coordinator will coordinate all shipping department activities and prepare items for shipment to domestic and international destinations per customer shipping requirements and specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Calls, coordinates, and schedules outbound freight with designated freight carriers (customer-directed and WB-directed).
• Directs shipper/receiver associates as needed in day-to-day shipping/receiving functions.
• Assists as needed with building pallets, crates, or skids for domestic and international shipping
• Assists as needed with loading and unloading trucks.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Completes buy cards for needed materials and supplies. Orders supplies as necessary.
• Gathers, verifies, and packs items according to specifications in a high-quality shipment standard to ensure materials arrive at our customer’s /vendor’s facility without damage.
• Reports all non-conformances to appropriate levels.
• Must be able to obtain power industrial truck certification.
• Coordinate shipments with Order Entry and Sales personnel to ensure proper sequence of orders for crating and shipping.
• Coordinate with the planning team to ensure all jobs are closed out before completing shipping transactions.
• Maintain Waukesha Bearings’ Import and Export Compliance program, including ensuring Items in Syteline have HTS classifications and Country of Origin for International shipments.
• Complete NAFTA analysis for any new products to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all export compliance rules and policies are followed before shipping any international parts orders and equipment orders, including screening new customers in Visual Compliance
• Complete all international documentation required for shipments, including commercial invoices, shippers' export declarations, customs invoices, etc. Coordinate and complete all necessary paperwork for orders shipping on a Letter of Credit.
• Utilize the SyteLine system to look up parts, process orders, review customer accounts, etc.
• Coordinate and file all necessary freight claims with carriers for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Support the company’s safety program and help enforce and follow all safety and PPE requirements per established company policy.
• Advises supervisor of conduct that may violate rules, policies, and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• One year certificate from college or technical school or a minimum of 1-2 years related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
