THE POSITION:
Working in Allen Wing (Skilled Nursing) Life Enrichment, you will cooperatively plan, organize, and implement the activities, including social events, outings, regular recurring resident events as well as other recreational opportunities to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social interests and needs of the Memory Care and Assisted Living residents. You will also inform residents and staff about the daily activity/recreation activities planned, assist residents going to, moving about during, and returning from activities, orient and coordinate the involvement of volunteers who participate in activities, and maintain recreation equipment and supplies.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization of the Activity Room and Storage Closets, working cooperatively with other departments, and performing other job-related duties as directed by supervisor or other members of the management team.
To be successful in this role, you should have familiarity with Memory Care and Assisted Living recreational principles and practices and residents’ rights. You should also have demonstrated energy, enthusiasm, and creativity in working with residents, integrity, and the ability to work unsupervised. Basic planning and organizing skills, the ability to interact well with residents and families, physicians, and staff, and the ability to work as part of a team are also essential.
HOURS:
Monday – Friday 4 hour shifts, 4pm to 8pm with rotating weekends.
