Job Summary
As a Human Resources Assistant at DOWC, you will play a vital role in supporting our HR operations and administrative tasks. This role is crucial to providing support to the essential operations of the HR team and ensuring a positive workplace for our employees. We are seeking a candidate who is eager to learn, grow and has a passion for developing skills in Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Assist the HR Generalist and HR Manager with necessary administrative tasks
- Assist in the onboarding and orientation process for new hires
- Maintain and update offboarding task lists
- Record meeting notes for required documentation
- Develop company newsletter drafts with a strong sense of detail and professionalism for company-wide communication
- Assist with any incoming requests to the HR department such as employment verifications, jury duty letters, password resets, etc.
- Triage all HR inquiries through the ticketing system and address matters accordingly
- Update and maintain the company's HR SharePoint page
- Assist with employee benefit invoices and reconciliations
- Maintain necessary payroll reports and keep detailed records in an organized file
- General HR filing and mail responses
- Act as a point of contact for any HRIS system issues and maintain HRIS system updates for employees when required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with ordering HR supplies and stocking supply closet
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in Human Resources
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Exposure to essential HR operations such as onboarding, payroll, reporting, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and MS Suite (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Strong ability to build interpersonal relationships with all levels of employees
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems in an urgent matter
