Job Summary:
We are seeking a shipping professional to join our Marketing department in Parsippany, NJ and lead the operations of shipping materials to our partners and clients across the US. The Shipping Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing all shipping and logistics operations. This position ensures the accurate and efficient processing of orders, maintains detailed inventory records, and collaborates with various departments and external stakeholders to support business objectives. The Shipping Lead will also contribute to identifying process improvements, managing resources, and maintaining compliance with company standards and regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of shipping operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to timelines.
- Execute order processing, including coordination with internal teams and external vendors, to fulfill client and organizational needs.
- Develop and implement best practices for packaging, labeling, and shipping processes.
- Conduct and maintain essential record-keeping duties, including inventory control, receipt tracking, and cataloging materials.
- Monitor and restock supply inventories, place purchase orders as necessary, identify discrepancies, and communicate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Ensure proper flow of materials and supplies across the organization, minimizing disruptions in operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, suppliers, and logistics partners to address shipping and supply chain requirements.
- Work closely with marketing management to ensure timely delivery of client orders and campaign materials.
- Analyze current shipping processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide guidance and leadership to team members involved in shipping operations, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed effectively.
- Train team members on new processes, systems, and tools to maintain a high-performing logistics team.
- Prepare and deliver reports on inventory, shipping performance, and logistical challenges to the Marketing Supervisor.
- Communicate proactively regarding delays, inventory shortages, or any other issues impacting operations.
- Load and unload shipments promptly and accurately.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including scheduling shipments, preparing documentation, and responding to internal inquiries.
- Support cross-departmental initiatives that require logistics expertise, such as event preparation or promotional campaigns.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a shipping or logistics lead, or related fields
- Hands-on experience with picking, sorting, and packing orders to prepare for shipment
- Experience working with shipping vendors and communicating with clients to resolve any order issues
- Excellent customer service and leadership capabilities
- Experience leading a team and prioritizing tasks
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and inventory management system
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, and familiarity with inventory management and shipping software.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking under tight deadlines.
- Self-starter who can work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
