What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buddy Walk Coordinator position at Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio?
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the Buddy Walk meets revenue expectations and provides an engaging experience for individuals with Down syndrome and their families as well as other participants.
Duties:
1. Meet budgeted event fundraising goal through relationship building with existing and new sponsors, community organizations, team captains & individual donors
2. Create revenue streams for event which may include (but are not limited to) securing sponsors, day-of fundraising, individual and team fundraising incentives
3. Work with event registration website management to ensure site meets all expectations for registration. Use reports to monitor event statistics and provide participant & donor data to Development Director
4. Work with event venue to secure necessary approvals; research new event venues for future Buddy Walk locations when applicable
5. Work with event management company (currently Hermes) to ensure participant packet pick up and day-of logistics are implemented
6. Negotiate contracts with additional vendors
7. Recruit and manage Buddy Walk planning committee who will assist in planning and execution of event
8. Work with DSANEO Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that event is properly staffed
9. Work with DSANEO Director of Community Outreach to implement event marketing plan
10. Professionally and appropriately represent DSANEO at events or other public relations opportunities
11. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Development Director
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
