Overall Responsibility
All items required by installer. Responsible for the day to day output, quality and performance of a BMP Installation team. Successful Team leaders will set the example for quality, safety and output for their team as well as model DTEC's values. Act as DTEC field representatives to the team, clients and public. They are responsible for the performance and development (OSHA 10, First Aid / CPR, skid steer and attachments, Stormwater 101) of their team members. Team leaders are directly responsible for managing an independent business unit that demonstrates flexibility, innovation and excellence. Quality audit scores are consistently at 95% or higher. Safety audits are consistently at 100%. Team leaders must have an understanding of DTEC values and share them with other team leaders and installers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Understand, agree and commit to DTEC values.
- Is an effective communicator, coach and leader.
- Communicate with clients, update progress, clarify changes, promote good outcomes.
- Be able to interact with client in person and on the phone.
- Will give recommendations on BMP work or changes to clients.
- Communicate with other Team Leaders and other leaders at DTEC to achieve improvements in processes and outcomes.
- Ensures the safety of the team, and ensures the entire team has PPE at all times
- Perform JHA prior to starting work, on all projects, including traffic, utilities, overhead danger, equipment, open trenches, other trades, weather (ice). Be aware of surroundings.
- Perform stretch and flex on site at the first job of the day and on every Xcel Energy project.
- Drive or oversee the driving of DTEC vehicles, transporting their team, materials and equipment from job site to job site while adhering to all local, state and federal laws.
- Meets DTEC quality standards and has complete understanding of all BMP installations.
- Knows how to use walk behind trencher, and skid steer and all attachments, staple gun, pounders, compressor, weed trimmers and proper loading techniques.
- Ensures proper amount of materials and correct equipment is loaded and secured on truck and trailer, including pre-trip inspection.
- Complete reports for tracking field operations and billing information (MTS, JHAs).
- Turn in accurate paperwork each day.
- Sign off corrected items from stormwater inspection report.
- Will have excellent attendance and communicate with supervisor if needs time off.
