Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to this role:
- Process vendor invoices by matching them with purchase orders and ensuring that supporting documentation is provided as required.
- Prepare checks for mailing and distribution.
- Filing and maintaining A/P related files.
- Review vendor statements.
- Maintain awareness of discrepancies or suspicious circumstances and investigate as required.
- Follow up as required, including related correspondence within established guidelines.
- Present oneself as a credit to Downstream Casino and Resort and encourage others to do the same.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the A/P Lead.
Qualifications/Requirements
To be successful in this role, an individual must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old upon employment.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed 3-6 hours of college accounting courses.
- Have one to two years of previous experience in the accounting field.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and math ability.
- Be able to use a 10-key adding machine and have personal computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of payroll laws and taxes is preferred.
- Possess excellent communication skills and present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Be able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
