JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Bartender
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Serving the guests with the drinks, food and experience they desire. Entertaining and creating a memorable experience for the guests that will bring them and their friends back. Maximizing the revenue generated from each guest.
Tasks included but not limited to:
- Mixing and serving drinks to specified recipes
- Maintaining appropriate pour cost and food service
- Maintaining a proficient level of tableside grace (i.e. gently placing drinks, being unobtrusive, and having a pleasant smile)
- Suggestive selling of the restaurant drinks and food
- Handling cash and other forms of payment efficiently and according to company guidelines.
- Operating the register system (POS) according to company guidelines
- Demonstrating responsible alcohol service and checking guests’ ID who appear to be under 30 years old
- Performing opening, closing, and side duties (setting up/breaking down the bar, cleaning countertops, sweeping the floor; properly labeling, covering and refrigerating prepped items for the bar; stocking liquor, beer wine and glassware throughout the shift; properly sanitizing equipment, utensils and glassware)
- Communicating clearly and effectively in English with guests and co-workers
Requirements:
Skillset (Knowledge & Abilities)
- Knowledge of the bar products and how to mix and serve them
- Being able to regularly perform the essential functions of the job (bending and reaching; lifting and transporting up to 50 pounds; standing and moving around for up to 8 hours per shift)
- Having adequate English language skills in order to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Having adequate Arithmetic skills to reconcile guests’ checks
