Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB: To coordinate professional, non-professional and contractual services involved in meeting the needs of the individual Hospice patient/family, using the principles of management, nursing process, Hospice standards of care, and knowledge of age specific needs and behaviors as related to death and dying.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for supervision, clinical guidance, counseling, performance appraisal, and professional development of Hospice Nursing Teams with a focus on patient safety and positive patient outcomes. (20%)
- Communicates, problem solves and manages issues and complaints from patients and families, healthcare professionals, and team members in order to achieve excellence in patient care. (20%)
- Processes medical records according to established standards, policy, and regulations. Keeps up to date with all necessary requirements and changes in order to complete work timely. (10%)
- Performs supervisory duties and makes management decisions balancing quality and fiscal responsibilities. (10%)
- Oversees scheduling of Patient Visits - Accurately monitors and schedules patient visits according to established policies and procedures to ensure that patients are visited according to the physician plan of care with concern for patient safety and regulatory requirements. (10%)
- Departmental Budget: As a member of Doylestown Health's leadership team who is responsible for budget, this position will adhere to the Health System's budget process to include planning, facilitating communication and coordination across the Doylestown Health System. As well as allocation of resources, controlling expenses and will be accountable for all budget variances. (15%)

Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Registered Professional Nurse with current license with Bureau of Professional & Occupational Affairs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. BSN required..
- Experience: Two years nursing experience required. At least one-year hospice field experience required. Critical thinking and multitasking skills a must. 2 years management experience preferred.
