Overview
The Deadhorse Medical Clinic is seeking a Temporary Front Desk Coordinator to support our medical team on the North Slope of Alaska. This role is full-time, working a three (3) month assignment starting in June. The best candidate will be a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual with medical billing experience. The Front Desk Coordinator will be responsible for handling daily administrative tasks, ensuring smooth patient scheduling, and maintaining accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answer and direct phone calls professionally.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Maintain and update patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with medical billing, including insurance verification, claims processing, and payment tracking.
- Provide general administrative support to medical staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical billing experience required.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Comfortable working in a remote setting on the North Slope for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:
The Front Desk Coordinator will spend most hours sitting and using office equipment and computers and occasionally light lifting supplies and materials. The Receptionist may have to manage a number of projects and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of employees, staff, visitors, clients, contractors, and the general public. The Receptionist may find the environment busy and noisy and will need excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
