Business Systems Analyst 6 (Hybrid)

DPP is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for an opportunity in Lansing or Detroit, Michigan (your choice).
 
Work arrangement:

• Hybrid: Onsite from day 1, 2 days/week (Monday and Tuesday). No remote only option.
• W2 position; 12 months with extension possible
• Local candidates only. Candidates must be within 2 hours of Lansing or Detroit. Candidates can report to either the Lansing or Detroit office for their onsite days, depending on their location, with occasional visits to the other site as needed. 

Position description:

• The business System Analyst position will support LEO - E & T workforce development applications, One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS), OSMIS Dashboard, Career Explorer, Michigan Adult Education Reporting System (MAERS) and Information Management, Performance, and Customer Tracking (IMPACT). 

Top skills and experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as System/Business Analyst conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with Customers and requirement gatherings.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing
• Minimum 1 year of RDBMS / SQL experience
• Preferred experience in Agile/Scrum
• Experience in SAP BO is a plus. 

Responsibilities:

• Requirement gathering, business process analysis/improvement, requirements management and software testing; Assess “As Is” and “To Be” processes and document gaps; collect end-user requirements for improving business processes and software via interviews, focus groups and other stakeholder discussions.
• Categorize/segment similar requirements and create additional requirements that address client pain points.
• Maintain up-to-date requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans (in Excel, word docs, Microsoft Azure), and run reports on the same to inform management discussions.
• Facilitate planning and requirements meetings, understand, and create solutions to improve user experience, agile product development support; participate in Sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product development team to translate requirements into technical specifications for the proposed solution; design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Maintain reusable scripts, technical documentation, and specifications; develop user stories and initial wireframes to guide the architecture of the proposed solution; develop software test plans.
• Participate in regression testing, quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing and conduct necessary sessions/focus groups with users to capture feedback on functionality being developed within each agile sprint; translate user feedback into refined requirements for development team.
• Serve as liaison between client business users and development team, communicating and interpreting requirements and technical solutions.
• Collaborate to elicit new product ideas and improve existing solutions; program management documentation support, including developing high-quality presentations for client meetings; and participate in team and customer meetings, documenting notes and action items; basic knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL) and Microsoft products Word, Excel and Visio.
