- Provide simultaneous interpretation support in all the company activities and events planned during the year. (Town Halls, Quarterly Meetings, Apprenticeship, Safety Week, Construction Inclusion Week, Foremen Meetings, EHS training, etc.)
- Confirm interpretation requests and coordinate event logistics.
- Operate, manage, and maintain portable sound system (microphone for speaker and a headset for listeners.) to ensure precise and timely interpretations.
- Actively engage, communicate, and meet with SPW Home Department, Regional Leaders, BU leads (field and office) and Talent Partners (Admin and Craft) to learn the regional business plan and to identify local activities/meetings/events in need of simultaneous interpretation. (Jobsite all hand meetings, jobsite walks with leadership, safety meetings, etc.)
- Partner with local C B resources to prepare content for region or BU-wide events (e.g. town halls, huddles) that are inclusive of the craft.
- Partner with Do Work Teams (in case your BU does not count with a talent partner)
- Actively participate in the People Practices Group (Talent, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, DE&I) at a regional level.
- Provide simultaneous interpretation support in other regions company activities and events planned during the year.
- Provide support in any other people practices activities when is need it.
- Community interpreter certification that includes the appropriate language proficiency level in both languages and at least a 40-hour community interpreting training.
- At least 2 years of experience in community interpretation.
- Proficiency in simultaneous, consecutive, and whisper interpretation. Experience and proficiency in English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English interpretation.
- Mobile, able to travel in-state, out-of-state and from jobsite to jobsite and navigate construction sites.
- Able to provide both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation. Ability to appropriately understand and respond to culturally sensitive situations, perspectives, and phrases.
