What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Authorization Specialist - Physical Therpay position at DPT Management?
Doctors of Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Insurance Authorization Specialist. We are looking for a reliable and professional member of our team that is looking for longevity with a growing company.
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year experience with medical authorizations and have good knowledge of coding and medical terminology.
Essential Functions:
- Review insurance claims and determine the necessary settlement as needed
- File documents and gather the required information for further investigation and analysis as needed
- Coordinate with the insurance companies and ensure that the correct communications are being sent out for reference
- Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA by appropriately managing patient confidentiality.
- Build authorization, match ICD-10 codes with their procedure codes
- Obtain verification of insurance coverage and authorizations for clinical visits for patients
- Escalate concerns to the supervisor for immediate resolution
- Communicate on audit findings to appropriate staff members
Requirements
- High School Graduate; and a minimum of 1 year billing experience, with a good understanding of coding and medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Maintain high levels of organization while being focused on details
- Capable of a sense of urgency in all responsibilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Capable of working independently
- Reliability and longevity is a must
