Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks
- Process medical billing and coding using ICD-10 standards.
- Handle incoming calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Assist with medical transcription and data entry, including 10 key typing tasks.
- Provide customer service support by addressing patient inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure efficient office operations.
Skills
- Previous experience as a medical office receptionist/administrative assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly eClinicalWorks
- Strong typing skills, including 10 key typing proficiency.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding, specifically ICD-10.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
- Familiarity with health information management practices is advantageous.
