Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate, hard-working, and creative Kitchen Team Member and Kitchen Team Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to work in a fast-paced, seasonal kitchen while contributing to the success of our winery’s culinary dishes in the Tasting Room and Eugenia’s Garden. You’ll work closely with our experienced kitchen staff, under the guidance of our Kitchen Lead, to prepare our cheese and charcuterie plates, flatbreads and cheesecakes that highlight the best of local and seasonal ingredients coming directly from our garden!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the ingredient preparation and plate assembly of a variety of dishes for daily tastings.
- Help maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support in prep work for large events and private dinners hosted at the winery.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
- Work alongside the front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless guest experience during winery events and tastings.
- Maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Uphold Dr. Frank Winery’s commitment to quality and excellence in food preparation.
- Assist with dish washing and collecting from service stations and garden, bussing tables and washing and polishing glasses from tasting experiences.
Qualifications:
- Prior kitchen experience (preferably in a fast-paced environment, fine dining, or catering) is a plus, but we’re open to training the right candidate.
- A passion for food and wine, with an eagerness to learn about wine pairings and local Finger Lakes ingredients.
- Be at least 18 years of age to operate our charcuterie slicer and use of our Point of Sale.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Flexibility in working hours, with weekend and holiday availability required, especially during peak seasons.
