We are seeking a Full -time Positive Front Desk Medical Receptionist. We are a fast pace Pediatric office. We are looking for a happy and positive receptionists to give our patients the best service possible by following the guidelines of our clinic. You will be responsible for providing general information to patients, answering a multi-line phone, taking payments, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and entering patient information into our computer system. Accurate processing of all front-end functions is integral to the position.
This job requires a collaborative interaction with patients, physicians, nurses, other staff members and management. Our ideal candidate requires some front office experience with some medical knowledge for working in a healthcare environment and the ability to work a desk top computer. Job Description:
- Appropriately responds to patient inquiries via telephone in a courteous efficient manner. Verification of patient demographics including type of medical insurance prior to the patient visit whenever possible
- Appropriately triages calls to RN, MA, NP and physicians as needed to determine accuracy of services needed.
- Appropriately schedules appointments meeting the needs of patient’s and the physician’s schedule.
- Maintains understanding of insurance referral requirements and consults with billing supervisor as necessary.
- Registers patients at each visit for the capture of complete and up-to-date patient and insurance information
- Receives and documents co-payments at time of service. Will be responsible for posting co-payments to patient account.
- Manage cash drawers to include receipt records and appropriate disposition. Appropriately establishes patient arrival for appointment and notifies clinical personnel of patients arrival
- Follows appropriate procedures for daily EMR system. Understands HIPAA regulations and maintains confidentiality of all patient and practice information.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.50 per hour
